About Carrie
“What if the voice of God was kinder than you thought?”
That question has followed me for years—through heartbreak, rebuilding, motherhood, and ministry. It’s the thread that weaves through everything I create, from my counseling practice to my writing and inner-healing work.
I believe God is still speaking—kindly, personally, and right into the middle of our stories. His counsel isn’t cold or distant. It’s presence. It’s peace. It’s the kind of nearness that steadies the soul when nothing else can.

My Story
There was a time when I knew about God but didn’t yet know His tone. Like so many, I carried silent ache and long seasons of unanswered prayers. And somewhere in that space—between heartbreak and healing—I discovered the voice of the Wonderful Counselor. Not a voice of shame or pressure, but of kindness. A whisper that said, “I’m still here, and I still have more for you.”
That discovery changed everything.
It’s why I became a counselor. It’s why I write.
It’s why Freedom Sessions exists—to offer a sacred place where people can experience the love of God in the places they feel most unseen, bound, or weary.
Healing, I’ve learned, isn’t about striving harder. It’s about learning to rest in Love.
The heart behind the work
My Calling
I help people experience the nearness of God in the places they feel most alone— to rebuild trust where it’s been broken, to restore wonder where it’s grown dim, and to remember that the heart of God is both kind and strong.
Every session, every page, every conversation I hold space for is an invitation to slow down and encounter Him—the One who still speaks, heals, and restores.

FAITH MEETS PRACTICE
My Work
I’m a counselor, writer, and founder of Freedom Sessions—a space for spiritual and emotional healing that integrates trauma-informed therapy with the gentle work of the Holy Spirit.
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology and am currently in the process of becoming registered in California as an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT).
My approach blends clinical insight, narrative practice, and contemplative formation—helping people connect the heart and mind in the presence of a safe and loving God.
I’m also the author of Wonderful: Discovering God as Counselor— A 21-Day Devotional. It is a journey into the kindness and counsel of God and a pull from the first 3 chapters of it’s companion book that is still in process, I’m also currently writing Sacred, a book about growing in sanctity through everyday life and relationships.
Beyond the Work
When I’m not writing or meeting with clients, you’ll probably find me walking beneath redwoods, journal in hand, or exploring small-town streets where time seems to linger a little longer.
I’m drawn to shops that hold things once loved and asking to be loved once more, to boutiques filled with texture and story, and to conversations that linger because they’re held with care.
Most days, I share life with my golden retriever, Dottie, and my labradoodle, Arlo, who both believe the best life is made for reflection and muddy paws. I love meaningful conversation, slow mornings, and the kind of laughter that feels like exhale after a long week.
I’m endlessly captivated by beauty—in people, in places, and in the quiet ways God redeems the human story.
